Here is an interesting site that a member here posted in a writing group we're both members of over on Facebook...it is called What Not To Do As A Writer...

Heck, they could probably do a feature story on me...here is the link...
http://whatnottodoasawriter.com/

It led to a bit of discussion in the FB group...and I posted my thoughts in the Random Blurt Thread...I know not everyone would agree...I only know what works for me, which may not work for anyone else...

But, I think the site is food for thought...and that's what really matters in the end...

Oh, that and better writing...
Oh here we go...my type of site...one that buys previously published stories...

Personally, I think the only thing better than selling a story is selling a story twice...OK, selling it three times is even better, but I'll let you know for sure if that happens...

Check out this link...what have you got to lose? It means all stories posted here would be eligible...

Btw, I just mentioned over in a writing group I'm a member of on Facebook that by far the best catch phrase I've ever read regarding writing I read earlier this year in a writing group I'm a member of on LinkedIn...it goes...

"Don't get it right, get it written."

I know that a lot of people won't agree with me, but I feel they are words to live by as a writer. It's the reason I usually post my stories before I actually read them myself...I don't give myself time for self-doubt to sink in. Too many writers, especially beginners, try to make a story "perfect" before they post it...the fact is, your story will never be perfect, and if you try to make it "perfect" the only result will be that you never post it, and an otherwise perfectly good story will just sit on your hard drive for all eternity, never to be read by anyone...except yourself a thousand times looking for ways to make it better...

Just my two cents...

(Where's the two cents emoticon here, btw? Don't see it... )
In honor of my story of the same name getting sold to ENE...the story actually appears here under the title "Love Conquers All" btw, in case you can't find it...I am posting this video...the story should appear on that site later on tonight...

A little known fact is that Marvin actually stole the title for his song from my story...

OK, OK...You can't blame me for trying, right? Enjoy...

Congrats to you Alan.

Thank you very much Miss Lola...

Btw, Happy Birthday to you and Mr. Lablu...

Hope it's a great day for the two of you Stories Space Cadets...

Cheers,
Alan.
Here is a site that some may find useful...I know there are so many sites related to writing it can be overwhelming...but check it out and decide...

"A site for fiction writers and readers with articles on fiction writing, prompts, interviews with authors and sneak peeks at upcoming novels."

If that sounds of interest...here is the link...
http://www.fictionaddiction.net/

Btw...let me know if there is anything good...
Btw, I am rather happy to announce...OK, I'm bragging a bit...but, I sold my fifth story this year...

Love Conquers All will post on one of the erotic e-Zines, I probably can't mention, under its original title of "Sexual Healing"...it's a love story, btw...and got a rather big response when it first appeared on the net last year...

You can read it right here on Stories Space, btw...if you have not already...it's the only story I've sold that is on SS...

Here was the notice I got...name of e-Zine removed...

Dear DirtyMartini,

We are pleased to tell you that we have decided to publish your story "Sexual Healing" in ***** ***** Erotica. We plan to post your story on Friday, June 3rd 2011.

Lots of emotion packed into this short story, well done.

Congratulations and we look forward to seeing more of your work.

PG-13 version of contest story is almost finished.

I see what you're doing Sharon...trying to get a little extra mileage out of the same story...

Nothing wrong with that, btw...I posted the first 3300 words of a contest story for an "adult" site here on SS as "His Christmas Wish"...so, it works...

I have no idea what to write... smile

You just wrote something...what's the problem? Keep going...

Hey D-C...be careful that monkey don't land on you...

Here's a picture for Lisa...

Mumfumbler....a "pseudo-profanity" often used by a former boss of mine...

It is basically a "minced oath" for a common cussword that refers to the frigging of the matriarch of the family...
Chocolate cake...

(If it is chocolate moose cake...my fave...)

Sports car or Sport truck?
My mother read my contest story The Birthday Party today...she said she really enjoyed it and thought it was well-written, in fact, she gave me a 5...

Thanks Mom...
A young ventriloquist is touring the clubs and one night during a show in a small town in Arkansas, with his dummy on his knee. He is going through his usual dumb blonde jokes, when a blonde woman in the 2nd row ,stands on her chair and starts shouting.

" I've heard enough of your stupid blonde jokes. What makes you think you can stereotype women that way? What does the color of a persons hair have to do with her worth as a human being? It is guys like you, who keep women like me from being respected at work, and in the community, and from reaching our full potential as a person., because you continue to perpetuate discrimination, not only against blondes, but women in general., and all in the name of humour."

The ventriloquist is deeply embarrassed and began to apologise., when the blonde yells, "You stay out of this mister, I I'm talking to the little bastard on your knee."
Hey there...calling all poets in the greater New York area...and I think there might be a few on here...

This girl is in one of my LinkedIn writing groups, and she has this site New York Poetry Examiner, or something...anyway, she's looking for poets in the New York area to feature...

I don't know that much about the site, such as if anyone actually goes there...but, any free publicity can't hurt...
