Well now, I think these are completely normal!

- All the bills in my wallet must be right-side up, facing forward and in the proper order, with the largest denomination in back. If a cashier making change gives me a handful of bills facing every which direction, I will stand there as long as it takes to make it right.

I do that...I just assumed everyone did...
I have to admit it's been a while here since I read any of the good doctor...

I think "The Cat In The Hat" stands out in my mind...though what the cat was doing in the hat, I haven't a clue...

I heard a rumor that someone was working on an adult middle-aged version of that story called "The Cat Got Too Fat To Fit In The Hat, And That Is That"...
Just a rumor, don't know if there is any truth to it...

Often I catch myself moving things just the tiniest bit so they line up square, like a coaster on a coffee table or a picture hung on the wall.

I guess that's why you keep such a neat site here...I noticed all the stories line up nicely on the front page...

Actually, I had a number of "OCD's"...but, I seem to have grown out of them as I got older...which I consider a good thing, btw...
Hi Lovely_Lady...welcome...

There might be more than a few you know from another site...they might even know you too...

See ya' around...here and there...
Cheers,
Alan.
I was looking for a video to fit my mood...this one seems to be winning at the moment...
Hey Louise...glad you accepted the challenge, and you did a fine job of it btw...better than I would have done...

Do want to go back to Detroit, Michigan for a moment though...it is the start of the weekend, and I think this song could be my theme song this weekend...at least I'd like it to be...

I always thought whoever said punk rock started in the 70's never had an MC5 album...I have their first three, on vinyl of course...
The title song from their first album, "Kick Out The Jams"...
Thought I'd play a little Australian music for this Friday...yes, they have music in Australia...
Is this guy happy it's Friday or what???
With all the bad news in the world, I can say that I received some wonderful news today...I got this message in my inbox today...oh yeah baby, I'll send you all a postcard from my new yacht...

The American Poetry Journal is now accepting unsolicited submissions...if you don't know what that means, it means you don't need an agent...
The good news is that they take online submissions, which anyone who has ever thumbed through The Poets Market will tell you is not something you can take for granted, even in the 21st century computer age...
The bad news is that they will not take anything that is previously published, and that means posted on sites like this...and I can tell you that is the case for 99.99% of "print" poetry publications...
But, if you have some unpublished poems, and don't mind waiting a year to see if they get accepted, it is an easy matter of e-mailing them in...
Here is the link...and good luck...

OK, one more contest and submission link that seems to be kept current...not only that but it's up to date...
http://www.writersrelief.com/writers-classifieds/writing-contests.aspx
When you win all that contest money, you can at least buy me a drink for posting this stuff...
The site itself seems to offer a variety of services for a fee, but the contest/submission listings are free...interestingly, the business is headquartered not far from where I live...
I always preferred the original Garnet Mimms version of this song, but this is rather good...
Is it any coincidence that the word "blog" rhymes with "bog?"...just seems that if you actually start reading blogs, you'll get so bogged down you won't get anything done...btw, does anyone else think the phrase "writing blog" is an oxymoron?

Just saying...
I think I may have finally found proof to that old expression "The rain in Spain, falls mainly on the plane."

And you thought it was just an old wive's tale...

you might want to hook up a phonograph to your phone to get ringtones.
