You know things are bad when you take off your snow tires and it snows twice in less than two weeks.

That is wonderful! Don't go running and hopping around. Easy does it. I am freezing today, probably because I turned the heat off in the house and it may freeze tonight. Could just turn it back on, but I believe in living dangerously.

Heat is still on in our place and it's a good thing. Cold with some actual late flurries this morning. Sigh.

Good Morning!!!!!!

Coffee is brewing, there's pots of Scottish Breakfast and Earl Grey teas. Kettle is ready for those of us needing hot bevvies to warm up. In the fridge we got sodas and a pitcher of fresh iced tea just in case someone somewhere is actually getting spring.

Have a good one!!

NO MORE BOOT !!!

Da boot got da boot! Yay!

Good evening! Too chilly in my neck of the woods for iced tea so making some lemon ginger herbal.

I have never really liked this distinction between "literary" and "genre". Are you seriously telling me that someone like Neil Gaiman, who is both a top fantasy writer and one of the best writers working in English right now, can't be both? Fortunately, some "literary" markets are genre, or accept genre, writing. Here's a list of 50.

The first one, by the way, accepts "crime poetry". That sounds weird to me but could also result in some very interesting writing, I think.

Keeping me on my toes is quite a trick between neuropathy and arthritis

Fortunately, he stole the zookeeper's smartphone and used Google Maps to find his way home

That coyote story I was blathering on about last year got accepted into an anthology!

Good news, indeed.

Brad's done some good stuff already. Like his writing. Have to give Donalda's piece a try.

Nice day here, if a bit chilly. Coffee is on. Tea is Tetley's Orange Pekoe and Assam.

Take care. See you later.

Unfortunately, the private plane was owned by a private zoo owner who put the ape on display in a cage

I was pretty good at Pong. (Yes, I am that old)

I played games a lot on my C64 computer (high school senior and university). Impossible Mission was probably my favorite.

Takes pencils and paper. Cookies, that is.😊

She will come home to a cleaned and organized garage we can actually fit both cars into.

Well done. We can only manage that in winter when don't have all the lawn and garden stuff out. Don't really need it in summer anyhow. We're fine with one car being outdoors (usually mine).

AND set up my ancient Nintendo Wii in the exercise room!

I think we sold my son's. I used to play the Wii Sports games like tennis sometimes. Generally not a fan of videogames, though.

You know things are bad when the solution has the same problem as the thing you were trying to fix.

Ape wanders into cafe grumbling about his aching back and generate exhaustion. Over-extended doing yard and house work.

Coffee is on. Tea is Scottish Breakfast and Earl Grey. Hot water is ready for other hot beverages, though we seem to be getting past hot beverage season now. Fresh pitcher of iced tea is in the fridge and the soda stock has been checked and replenished where necessary.

New week, new fun. Right?

Is anyone else weirded out that something that tiny and cute is actually a direct descendant of a line of theropod dinosaurs, meaning cousins (evolutionarily speaking) of things like Tyrannosaurus Rex.

Planting trees today. A couple years, we took a juniper that we planted when we first landscaped the property. I replaced it with an emerald cedar today. Lovely weather for it, too. Mid-20s C, sunny, no wind to speak of (that's picked up now).

Cute moment of the day: I went to the garage to get something while I was working. A chickadee flew out. Then I went in and found a second on perched on the edge of one of my rubber boots. Didn't get my phone out in time to get a picture so you'll just have to take my word that is was soooooo cuuuuuuuute. For those who don't have chickadees where they live, here's what they look like:

Getting late, so I'll skip the coffee and just put out a pot of green tea and one of lemon ginger herbal. I'm hitting the fridge for a diet lemon-lime soda myself.

Nothing much right now. Just the odd Youtube video. Should get Netflix back so I can see season 2 of Russian Doll but they keep jacking up their prices so I'm inclined to wait until The Sandman drops (I'm hearing rumours of summer given that Neil Gaiman is in New York right now to work on the press kit), then get it for a month or two to watch those two.

You know things are bad when Rudolph brings in the Abominable Snowman to deal with the Grinch (this is turning into the SCU - Santa Cinematic Universe).

I finally got something written and submitted its on the front page for your enjoyment : Sweet Summer

Will get to it later. Got some stuff to do first.

I discovered Dorothy via my Youtube recommendations a while ago. Solid American hard rock band with an incredible lead singer. Dorothy, BTW, is both the band name and the first name of the lead singer.

I hated meetings, Ape, and so I feel your pain. I am so happy to not have to attend them. Especially Zoom meetings - at least yours was in person.

Actually, we were about 50-50 in-person and Teams. We are in a sixth wave of COVID around here so a lot of people took the Teams option. I might have if I hadn't been presenting.
