Another site I am quite active on right now is Floorworld, the official site for fans of Dutch singer Floor Jansen. And we've all been in a tizzy this week as the release of her first ever original solo single approached (her past solo work has been covers or solo versions of songs from the various bands she has fronted). It dropped last night. It's marvelous.

Unfortunately, the silly ape drank the water and put the banana on his feet 😲😋

I walked in on my cats like this. Not sure what they were doing. At least they are amusing and good company.

Did you check to see if an ant or something had fallen in the bowl? Cats are funny sometimes, though. If it's shiny enough, maybe just using it as a mirror. Nice to see you.

Coffee and tea are on and the kettle is full of hot water. Cookie tins are out. Weather sucks here but if you actually want something cold, the fridge is stocked up.

Have a nice one, gang.

You know things are bad when Sara is too laid up to make cookies. 😕

Awwww Ape .

When the person running to the store for you brings you diet Coke inside of regular Coke

Actually, that would be my order, but I get it. I prefer sugar to aspartame, too. My doctor has other ideas, though

You know things are bad when you're dancing in the streets over a minor victory.

The ladies from church have set up some meals to be brought in

Churches can be great that way. Good that you have help.

And I shall help myself to a few of them there cookies to go with my tea time.

Hey, Ana da Armas' next movie is NC-17. She plays Marilyn Monroe. Hubba hubba!

An NC-17 Marilyn Munroe film? Poor Norma. Still being exploited decades after her death.

It's based on the Joyce Carrol Oates novel; it might treat her gently and with empathy.

Oo, that changes it for sure. I've read some of Oates gothic material and she's good. Forgot she had done a novel about Monroe.

The SURGERY WAS A SUCCESS!

Good news! Glad to hear it. Take care and get yourself well.

And while I am here, I will put on a pot of coffee and boil the kettle. Red Rose and Earl Grey in the teapots.

Later, Inspirators.

from early February most written work written work received a maximum of four comments, but when a competition comes along that leaps to near twenty

To be fair, that is true on the other site we both write for as well. It's just that the numbers are higher overall so it doesn't feel like a problem there, but I generally get noticeably more views and comments on comp entries than on non-comp stories on that site, too. The problem here is that with few people active, we get less activity overall so things like the differential in numbers of scores and comments between comp and non-comp stories shows more. The real solution is to get the level of activity up. If the people who come for comps would stay instead of popping in for comps and then skittering off, we could achieve much higher numbers.

Unfortunately, the dragons overshot and set fire to the neighbors' house.

Good morning! There's some Costa Rican in the coffee pot, Keenum and Tea Haus Breakfast for the teas. Hit water is ready for other hot beverages.

We seem to have missed the freezing rain that was forecast, but it is still cold and wet here.

It's demise? I hope not. I haven't heard anything about this place closing.

I think she's referring to the lack of activity. Outside a few of the game threads and Inspirations, there's not much happening. And that's mostly from the same half dozen to ten people, some of whom only post in those threads and don't do much else. Most of the stories on the front page have maybe 1 score at most and 0 or 1 comments. My latest is up to one score and two comments. A lot have 0 for both. So, yeah, I have noticed it being rather quiet here, too.

That said, Wondercafe2 (my site) has been kind of sleepy since the New Year and has picked up a bit of late so maybe this is a similar lull.

Fortunately, the ape had a selection of fine condiments handy to spice things up

Good morning!!

Coffee is hot in the coffee pot. Went with some Jamaican Blue Mountain today. Hot tea is Red Rose and Assam. Other hot beverages are available. Fridge is now stocked with generic Inspirations branded pop (cola, ginger ale, lemon-lime) and a pitcher of iced tea mixed up daily.

Bit grey here with freezing rain threatened for overnight. Fortunately, I still have my winter tires on (was planning to get them off soon, though) as I do need to go across the city first thing tomorrow morning.

silly A update : ankle /foot surgery is scheduled for WEDNESDAY March 23. Gotta be at the hospital at 7am surgery after 8am .I'll be out of commission most of that day . It's outpatient so I'll be home the same day

Good that you get to recover at home. Good luck and wishing you a speedy recovery!

Elizabeth, we have deer and coyotes in the valley on the edge of my neighbourhood. I've seen the former occasionally, never the latter though the trail down into the valley now has warning signs about avoiding the place during times of peak coyote activity. Bears largely left Southern Ontario as the region developed but they occasionally show up. One was caught in the West end of my city a year or two ago.

The main wildlife I see are various small and mid-sized birds (robins, grackles, jays, finches, chickadees), rabbits, and squirrels. Occasionally, we'll see a skunk but they mostly come at night so we don't see them often. More rarely, larger birds like turkeys and hawks pop by for a visit. I once saw a turkey vulture eating roadkill around the corner but that's really unusual in a residential neighbourhood.

Anyhow, must skitter off. Getting near ape's bedtime. Work day tomorrow and then Wednesday off to accompany my wife for some medical stuff (routine, nothing serious).
