Changing your mind aggravates friends

22 hours since Sara's call. God, it is lonely here. I'm glad she left all those cookies for me to nibble at. Still it's been quite a good day, bright and sunny, but still that damned wind, bending those rose bushes. But most of the gardening is complete--only an aching back to remind me, how much bending and stretching is required. Apart from that the memoir I've struggled with for nearly a month, I finally sent off and thankfully it was verified today, very prompt. In general, a decent day. So, I'll celebrate with a whale, a mermaid's tail (I assume there are some left). Thanks, Sara, I'll have a large latte to go with them, although I'll have to boil the water myself.

I was at a 1940s weekend near my home. It is the Avro Lancaster of the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight. One of only two still flying anywhere in the world, and the only wholly original one (the other is in Canada and was converted to carry passengers).
Oh, how I envy you that experience. When I was nine years old I had a large model Lancaster and a smaller model Spitfire. The Lancaster was involved in the Dam busters raid. and I think we all know what the Spitfire did. Both aircraft carried out their missions time and time again---under my nine years old command!
