It was just after midday and we were looking,
searching for something to do.
The idea we came up with was going to speedway
As our favourites cars are on...
The kings with wings, V8 Sprint cars.

We get ourselves ready
making sure we had everything,
before heading to the track.
We carry our chairs and a blanket
As we pay our entry at the gate.
Tonight is part of the World Series
the stands are packed.

Fun times of speed and mud
as the roar of the engines shakes the ground.
The teams line up in heats of ten,
one by one the cars are push started.
Until they all have completed some hot laps.
The motors now warm and a feel of the track
Heading back to the pits
So the crews can make their final adjustments.

Cars and drivers are ready
Now it’s time to race.

Out comes a group of ten cars
the first race us about to start.
The 4 wheel drives push them one by one
lining up in rows of two.
The crowd roars for the their favorite driver when they roll past,
before heading down the back stretch, wheel to wheel.

The red light goes off and they are in the starters hands,
He waves the flag, the light turns green.
And there off racing
the roar of the v8 engines fills the air.

Into the first corner they go
each driver fighting for the pole.
Round and round they go, racing at a very high speed...
Until the checkered flag drops,
and the driver out and front wins.
