Fall Chill

Picture prompt 2

Summer has left the resort town. The first of the cool winds has set in. Early show clouds are in the sky, producing cold rain and not snow. The once-thriving bushes are now bare brambles, never to bloom again until spring. The forest on the outskirts of town is shrouded in dusky light from what's left of the sun. People are exploring the shops, picking up their materials for the early onset of winter, skipping over fall. Leaves on the trees lay on the ground, blazing colors of red, gold, and orange. The harvest is complete. It’s time to hibernate.
