A Lie

Tags: words, lies

You think you are so clever

You played me for a fool

I gave more than I should of

But what was I to do

I was always honest with you

You took advantage I see

How many others don't sleep at night

How many were just like me

You knew what to say

You knew what I would do

You only played a game

And I

Did I do what they said to you

Just remember this my friend

When you sleep alone at night

You could of had the best

Now who is up all night

You will always be alone

Living in your dreams

Someday you will know pain

Like nothing ever before

The pain you caused

Will come back to you

So I smile and say Good bye

Farewell and think of me

Each child you see could of been

The one you had with me
