Finding Love

I met a girl and she said to me,

“Would you like to join me under this tree?”

Her hair was as gold, her lips cherry red,

I lost my thoughts. What was that she said?

“I'm sorry.” I stuttered, like a teenage boy.

I blushed and she smiled, her eyes full of joy.

She patted the ground, upon which she sat,

Her eyes both sparkling like the Cheshire cat.

My heart skipped a beat as I moved to her side.

I tried looking calm yet my trembling belied.

She impishly grinned, for she knew the score.

My soul exposed like a wide opened door.

Side by side, we sat under that tree.

I was for her and she for me.

Love is like that you see; it's always around.

You just need to look, for it to be found.

I found my one, or maybe, she found me.

Together and forever as it was meant to be.
