She lost her sight as the years went by

Although she was not born blind

So he cared for her from day to day

His nature was good and kind

And then one day in the forest glen

They were strolling hand in hand

So much in love in the morning sun

As their wedding vows they planned

♥

They stumbled on to this dying man

Who looked just like a druid

And helped him drink as they raised his head

He was glad to have some fluid

♥

“You each have a wish” he said to them

“For helping a man in need

But please think well when you make your choice

Make sure it’s a noble deed”

♥

Entertaining angels

Mystery from afar

Their faces are no different

You’ll never know who they are

For a moment they are with you

And then they’re gone for good

And in those hallowed moments

God’s love is understood

♥

When she awoke from her sleep that night

She found she could see again

And looked down at the sleeping man

Who suddenly looked so plain

♥

When he awoke from his deep sleep

He found that she was gone

She’d made her choice in the dead of night

With him she did not belong

♥

But as the years rolled slowly by

She longed for the man at home

The others were not good to her

And she felt so much alone

♥

She went back to the glen to find

The man who could fill her need

But found that he had passed away

Was given this note to read

♥

I’m sorry I’m not the one you loved

It was something I could never tell

Please take good care of my two eyes

And I hope they serve you well

♥
