In Dreams So Green

In dreams so green and drifting nightly pain
The restless skies may often bring chill rain
To trickle down my cheeks in pristine lines
And wash away the dark and haunted signs

Just one more day accepting choices made
'Tis not too much to ask at evening's shade
A nightfall that may bring my sweet release
While heavens open up to bring true peace

Her echoing bright laugh would fill the air
With childlike songs expressing not a care
Touched heart and face erasing every tear
Till late we parted on those days so drear

Dull memories still come to bring me sighs
As moisture falls from clouds into my eyes
No longer may our lives be lived entwined
So dreams of green I need to leave behind
