I am,

Missing you, like I’ve had you once before.
Reaching out to feel, and felt something more.
You must know that you are whom I adore.

Compelled by a force that no one can see,
Driven forward to hold onto dreams,
Caring for someone who can’t be with me.

Not understanding the feeling, but feeling too much.
How I wish you knew how I longed for your touch.

Aching and burning, this passion, this yearning,
After so much time, I find I’m still learning.

I hope that you feel how I care for you so,
I can’t imagine you could possibly know.

How do you do it? Know just what to say,
To keep me returning day after day,
To feel your presence I go out of my way.

I don’t mind at all, how you please me ever so.
When you can’t hear me I whisper for you not to go.
A gentle plea from all of my heart and my soul.

I know you must leave but I want you to stay,
The heart pushes logic right out of the way.
How I’ll wish us together for all of my days.

You speak to me in verses, not knowing that you do,
You have a turn of phrase that’s unique to you.

Illuminate me, my love, like I glow from inside out,
You must know it’s you I cannot be without.

Tell me your dreams, your wishes, your desires.
Your stories, your thoughts. You set me on fire.

They say it’s curiosity that killed the cat,
But satisfaction is what brought her back...
