I looked at the reflection

And I hated what I saw

I saw unhappiness

Pain

Regret

Bubbled up with anger

And rage

Life for me

Has not been crystal stair

I can’t speak of what I don’t know

And I refuse to play

The hypocrite

So let me confess my lies

As I peered at the mirror

I saw a broken woman

Torn

Daggered by a sword of revenge

I hid my smile

To disguise

My fears

You may not see my tears

But they are there

Deep within

Crying

Sleeping through my pores

I may stand stall

But truly

I am down

Just take a look

In the mirror.
