My Princess

My Princess

Why do you look so sad, as you stare out from the screen?
Why do you look so sad, with beauty like I have never seen?
You do not belong here, with those eyes so beautiful and blue.
You do not speak yet I see into the heart of you.

What has happened to bring you to this place?
What has happened that the pain shows on your face?
Still, you have not spoken yet I feel you screaming out
Won’t you talk to me, a friend? What is it all about?

What is so horrific, that you dance for those who pay?
What is so horrific, Oh, please, why won’t you say?
You really shouldn’t be here, that much I can see
You are different to the others, that much is clear to me.

How has life betrayed you that you are reduced to this?
How has life betrayed you that you’re in this cold abyss?
The light on the wall behind you as you sit there looking down
Shining on the pattern looks just like a crown.

Tell me now, my Princess, What brings you to this place?
Tell me now, My Princess, What sadness do you face?
Your partner found new love and threw you out alone?
And because you have no money, your children can’t come home?

And is this true, my Princess? Or just a pack of lies.
And is this true, my Princess? Yes, I see it in your eyes.
I cannot help you much, I know, but just to be your friend
And I will always be here to help you till you mend.
