You came into my life in a flash.

A simple line thanks for the add.

Did not know how that would change

the direction I was headin'.

I had recently lost love and wasn't

ready for another. Did not know I had it

in me to love someone other.

I thought of you every moment,

of every hour of every day.

wondering how to tell you forever

I would stay.

I listened to your life with a bleeding heart,

so much like my own that had been

torn apart. before I knew what hit me

it became clear. In love with you I fell.

You seemed to be everything I had wanted,

a few flaws but nothing not worth mending.

So I clung to you and it help me say good bye,

to all the pain I felt inside.

Now it is gone and I lay here battered, but I know

inside I am no longer torn and shattered.

you mended in me something I lost.

Today I say good bye and know I can love again.

Thank you for that my short lived friend.

Although you have walked away I will never forget.
