Spring Song

There is a land of sweet delights
A place by love defined,
Where I have wandered oft by night,
Exquisite joys to find.

Its gentle hills, so soft and round,
Are ripe for each caress,
Their swelling curves, in beauty, crowned
Await my lip’s impress.

My hope is that the lightest kiss
Reaction will inspire,
And buds of red in search of bliss
Break forth in shoots of fire.

On hidden paths through dappled groves,
Searching for beauty wild,
I follow where the music moves,
My heart and soul beguiled.

In pastures green, silver with dew,
When I lay down my head,
Peeking coyly, concealed from view,
I glimpse a flash of red.

A flower of night opening wide,
Enchants my ravished eyes,
Its crimson centre like a bride,
Offered like a prize.

Tender petals their wings unfurled,
Tumescent with desire,
Draw me into their carnal world,
Possessed by burning fire.

Her naked heart revealed to sight,
Hot passion does awake,
My goal is clear, and I will fight
The bastion to take.

With girded loins, and flashing blade,
I'll storm the battlements,
And ‘gainst my might there is no aid
Will hold that last defence.

The battle won, sweet victory,
My wanted prize I claim,
Banner unfurled, and lance held high,
My rampant steed inflame.

So through the breach, I boldly ride
The Citadel to take,
A final thrust and then the tide
Upon her flesh will break.

The gates of her sweet treasure store
To my desire will yield,
And I will reap the spoils of war,
Upon that captured field.

Between those walls so velvet smooth,
I'll thrust my piercing sword,
And in that holy place of truth,
Possess her secret hoard.

But as I mount the final crest,
Those hidden depths to plumb,
In ecstasy, by love possessed,
A captive I become.

This is the holy truth I've found,
In plundering that trove,
I am in turn in rapture bound,
A prisoner of love.

All passion spent, by love unmanned,
A warrior betrayed,
I’ll rest in this my promised land,
By greater strength enslaved.
