What Does She See

What Does She See

What does she see
With her eyes on me

This shell of a man
Filled with insecurity

Broken and flawed
Paint pealed and chipped

On this meandering path
I’ve stumbled and slipped

The occasional scar
Etched upon my skin

Evidence of deeper wounds
Remain buried within

Hardly exceptional
In fact garden variety

Humbled and blessed
She sees me differently
