Hi, hi. The coffee is finally ready. Now just have to let it cool momentarily for that first sip.

Here's hoping all are well in these hard times.

hi peeps
A beautiful day here.
The birdies are chirping and I saw a little lizard sunning itself on my top step
A iced tea sounds fantastic right now

Not much going on here just a lazy laid-back kind of day it looks like.
*peeking in the cookie jars * no cookie bandits today and the cookies still look good .
*giving the adorable mascots fresh cold water and treats *
Stay safe everyone

Sorry, I'm just passing through. No time to make coffee. I'm heading to the hospital for blood lab work, a CT Scan, and a consultation with my oncologist to discuss the scan results. I'll see you all later this afternoon.

So how you all are? Things seem to be a tad slow in the world of Stories Space. I've been of no help recently so don't mean to come off sounding like some self-righteous busy-body. If you wanna know, I'm more the don't give a flying buffalo chip ne'er-do-well type.) Just telling it like I think it might actually be.

Think I'll crank up the coffee pot and tea kettle, then grab a few of Sarah's cookies, and sit outside to watch the Gila Monsters basking in the sun.

All is well for me and my cancer at the present. The places that cancer was in the past are still "unremarkable" now. That simply means they cannot see cancer there. The spot on the ilium is still "stable" and again means it is not growing that they can see.

This is all good. I won't be going back for another CT Scan and checkup until September.

I'm having my last cuppa coffee for the day now.

Hello, everybody. I've been going to work every day this week at 4:30 am for 10-hour shifts to get the workload down. I want my Saturdays back, so I can start writing again and return toeing consistent on my blog and my writings. Hopefully, things can return to normal, and not only I can resume my creative outlet; I can resume house hunting. I think chamomile tea will be nice.

Thanks for stopping by, Sharon. There were plenty of cookies for you, I'm sure.

This morning's coffee is ready. A little hot as yet. The pup is taking his "after getting up nap."

hi peeps
A large iced coffee sounds yummy in the tummy right now.
Was feeling cranky earlier but now it's all better.
*peeking in the cookie jars * hmm no cookie bandits.
*giving the adorable mascots fresh water and treats *
I hope everyone is having a great day and staying safe.
Not much going on here today. Went for a soda with my friend Jolene and I might have a job helping her granddaughter learn how to read. Jolene and the girls momma have tried just about everything.
I'll know in a few days.

Please tell me you're joking. I will be so jealous if you get to see gila monsters on a regular basis. Skunks and rabbits are all well and good but the wildlife down in your neighbourhood is another plane of interesting compared to here. We technically have rattlesnakes in Ontario but I never saw one until I went hiking in Zion. I did see a deer recently while cycling along a creek near my place.

Wildlife envy aside, all is well here. Got some much needed rain last night with a fairly high probability of more this afternoon. Been a bit dry (but nice) the last couple weeks.

Morning tea is on for those who need it.

Sonja did not have a cat. So why was this one making itself at home in her house?

It must have rained all night long. It doesn't often awaken me but whenever I woke up last night it was raining, and rather strongly. So it is a pleasantly cool day.

The coffee is ready and there is always water in the tea kettle.

I'll be working on some writing today. I'm hoping to get it done this weekend.

Have a good day, all.

hi peeps
A beautiful day here
A large iced coffee would be yummy in my tummy.
The sun is shining and birds are chirping their pretty songs.
Not much going on. I went with my friend Dodie to check out a new coffee place its a locally owned cute little place it use to be an old bar/restaurant. The cool thing is that it still has the original bar from when it opened. It's a beautiful old building next time I go I'll take pics to share.
It's called Junk and Java it's part coffee place and part antique store and oh the goodies they had. They even had old fashioned candy.
The coffee there is good we got a caramel frappacunio. It's got a strong coffee flavor but so yummy.

*cleaning out the cookies and putting them in the emergency cookie tins behind the counter and cleaning the crumbs out of the cookie jars *
Today we have pretty sugar cookies shaped like rainbows ,suns and butterflies
*filling both cookie jars to the tippy top and giving the adorable mascots fresh water and treats *

Stay safe everyone!

Larry, this is the news that makes a perfect excuse to go dancing tonight with a lovely picnic tomorrow. We can take Victor tomorrow. Deep sigh of happiness at your wonderful news.
Great news from our Survivor. Of course his reward is to dancing with Ms Elizabeth while I try to train Vic to be my seeing eye guide dog. smile

Congrats to Larry and keep on keeping on.

Now about cookies, while it is a goodness to have both cookie jars filled with goodies, who, I ask, who has swiped all the crumbs? ;) Thanks, Sarah. That coffee joint does sound interesting. Of course this coffee place serves a coffee that is beyond compare with anything short of C-ration instant Nescafe' coffee-like fluid. .

Think I'll grab some of those cookies and sip on that old-fashioned coffee while trying to dodge PTSD and sit outside to watch the scorpions fight.

The heat will be in the 90s this week. We aren't happy but it is life here in Kansas. Java will help a bit.

Have a great Sunday, all.

Howdy folks

An animal I rather wish we had. In terms of reptiles, there are literally no lizards native to Southwestern Ontario, just a few snakes and turtles that are rarely seen by city boys like me (I fondly remembering finding a snapping turtle when visiting relatives in Caledonia, Ontario as a kid). So I love visiting places that have them. The first time I spent time in the Caribbean I fell in love with iguanas, but also enjoy cute little lizards like anoles and such.

Nice day. Getting a bit warm but not terrible. Apparently Ottawa, where Little M lives, is going to get the worst of this heatwave. Which is weird because in winter, they are colder than us. Must be the moderating influence of us being sandwiched between two Great Lakes (Huron and Erie).

Having my first cuppa java. Nice day. Talking about animals nearby within a mile of my home I've seen muskrats, geese, ducks, loons, beaver sign, several kinds of turtles including snapping. Plenty of fish since a fishing pond is across the street. And we are in an urban area.

Within five miles is a state park with a large lake for sailing and fishing. Plenty of seabirds there including gulls and pelicans. And this is right here next to a city of around 100,000 folks. We are very lucky with our wildlife.

Have a great day, friends.

hi friends

Our area has gone from being the northern edge of the city when we built in 2000 to well inside it now as development has spread North from us. Our neighbourhood has a creek in a small valley running down the Western edge. There's been beaver there in the past (seen trees they've cut) but not sure about right now. Definitely deer, because they sometimes come up into the neighbourhood. And when I was walking down a new trail they made into the valley last year, I noticed there were coyote warnings up so I guess there's coyotes down there now. And then the usual urban/suburban wildlife like coons and squirrels.

Gettin' steamy here again, but last night was still cool enough that I got a good bike ride in. Will probably stick to walking tonight or maybe stay in and use the stationary bike (though I am trying to get outdoors for exercise as much as I can).

Time for an iced tea and ... oo, there's a cupcake-shaped cookie left.

It's gotten hazy hot and humid around here. Typical for the DC metro area. I'm not a fan.

I just got back from a week at the beach. My husband, two older sons, daughter-in-law, and my son's girlfriend all came with us. The beach in NC is family-friendly so not a lot of people are on the beach at any one time. It was easy to stay socially distant. We stayed on the beach so a quick walk down the stairs and we were on the sand. We spent all day there and in the water. My sons did most of the cooking so it was a nice break. Good food laughs, sun, surf, and family made for a great week. I almost forget about all the other things going on in the world.

I hope everyone here has been well.

Hey, Gill. Glad to hear you had a nice vac. I'm taking some time off this week but no big plans. My part of Canada is still pretty locked down. Just stay home and do something that isn't work. Write, watch TV, something like that.

Good day my friends. The coffee is ready to serve as well as hot water for tea and cocoa drinkers. It does seem rather hot for cocoa around here.

How's by you, Larry? I've been locked down here in the Valley of the Sun for sooooo long, it's hard not to envy Gill for her week on the beach. At least it is until the old and little used brain recalls just some of the trials not to mention tribulations she's had in the recent past. You go, Gill.

Thanks to Larry for the coffee and to Sarah for the cookies. There are a lot of things I can bitch about these days but those two items ain't on the list. ;)

In North Carolina restaurants had reopened with limited capacity. Same with stores. We didn't go out to eat but did get take away from restaurants twice that had curbside service. No shopping on this trip except to the grocery store. Everyone was wearing masks and I went early so not many people were in the store. I don't want to tempt fate.

Virginia is entering phase three on Wednesday. No limits on retail stores and restaurants can increase capacity. I am still waiting on my doctor's to have in-person visits. I've had two video appointments but that won't work for dermatology or a mammogram.

Not sure when my parent's retirement community will allow visitors again. That's been very hard on them. My father can not understand what is going on. At least he hasn't called me in the middle of the night to ask why I have abandoned them for a while. Those phone calls were not pleasant.

I'll have a lemonade and some cookies, please.

I hope everyone is having a good week.

Cheers!
Hello to everyone this morning. I have the coffee on now but it is not quite ready.

Our governor has now placed us in this position. Masks must be worn inside any public place along with distancing. If you are outside the mask is not needed unless you are getting into crowds. So I can walk the dog without a mask as everyone in the neighborhood does. We meet and greet but stay separate. Oddly enough that is what I've been doing for months now. I thought that was already the rules.

I've been to see my oncologist in person but other doctors have been Zoom visits.

Our biggest problem will be the anti-maskers who will refuse to wear masks in the grocery stores. They are so irritating since they obviously could care less about the safety of the people around them.

Well, going to check on the coffee now.

hi peeps
The day is beautiful here. The birdies are chirping.
Got an appointment for my allergies. Masks are required in the waiting room area.
Masks are required in public places here but not everyone is following the rules.

Our Governor has been very careful, but all of a sudden he is going ahead with Step 3 on Friday. Crazy. Now is the time to wait and see because 3 is too open and lax.
Hey there friends. Serving up the fresh java right here. And the pup is busy gnawing his Tiger stuffy.

I submitted a story this morning, finally finished it last night. Glad that is done.
