Good evening, Larry! It's late here so I'll skip the coffee and have a lemon and ginger tea.
We're having quite a warm couple of days here. Summer at last! Briefly, anyway. I actually sat outside with a book for half an hour without getting blown away or rained on!
Hope everyone had a good Sunday.
Morning, Sara, thanks for the fresh batch of cookies! Morning, E, how nice to start off the week with positive thoughts.
It should be a warmish day here in sunny (well, overcast but not raining) Ireland, which is a pleasant change. I'll grab a cup of coffee and one of those cute cookies.
Hope everyone is having a good start to the week.
Well, my power just went out, so I can't work! They stopped by yesterday and said this would happen, for about an hour. Rhank God my phone has a mobile hotspot.
Not much else gojng on here. I may write. I may kick back and read and drink coffee.
I've been going for a 6,000-10,000 step walk every day for about a month now. It's really improved my life. I look forward to it. And as I get to think about what I plan to write while I walk, it helps my writing too.
Hope everyone is doing well.

I finally had my checkup and cleaning at the dentist. Got delayed from, I think, June or so. The Ontario college has really gone hard on COVID-prevention so it took him a while to get his office up to par, delaying all his appointments from the spring. Not to mention the front steps seemingly collapsed, forcing him to use his side door as the entrance (he converted an old bungalow into a dental office).
Now I am working in my office. Trying a mix of in office and remote for the next few weeks.
Sonja did not have a cat. So why was this one making itself at home in her house?

The metal singer made Brenda an interesting offer, but was her interest in the music ... or him?

Congratulations to all the winners, the top ten, and everyone who entered the contest. It was a lot of fun to read all the stories and see the different takes on the theme.
The weather has finally turned fall-like and I am loving it. It helps with my mood which has not been cooperating with my many efforts to change it.
Trying to manage and juggle care for family members by phone is challenging. Some days I feel completely incompetent. Sigh...
I hope everyone is having a good week.
Cheers!
What a great contest that was! I hope there will be another one soon! Congrats to all who entered. Looking forward to your next Scamp story, Sara!
We *might* get some sunshine today - which would be nice! I'll grab a coffee and some of Sara's delicious cookies to get moving here.
Haven't turned our furnace on yet but it is getting tempting. Definitely a bit chilly when I got up this morning and only 8C outside when I left for work about 8:15am.
Working on my Halloween horror story now. Last year was a ghost story. This year, I'm going for cosmic horror, I think, though trying to keep it very focussed and personal. Also have another story I am toying with but not for here.
Making a pot of Scottish Breakfast tea for anyone in need of a non-coffee caffeine fix.

Scott, I love a good ghost story. I look forward to reading it when you are done.
The air has turned decidedly cooler this afternoon. I am loving the cooldown. It's breezy and it smells like fall. Doesn't' look much like it yet. It has been such a hot and rainy summer that everything looks like a jungle. Usually, by August everything is burnt and dead from the heat.
I love sleeping with the windows wide open snuggling up under blankets.
Looking forward to my middle son coming for the weekend. He''s mostly coming so he can work on his motorcycle. Can't do that in the parking lot at his condo building. I'll bug him while he's working and make his favorite foods.
My youngest was thrilled to finally make it to Germany to see his German girlfriend. The EU started allowing couples to visit each other if they have been in a relationship for over a year, have visited the country before, have a COVID test when they land, and quarantine until they have the results. He can quarantine with her. Their future plans were put on hold by all this mess. I'm happy for them.
I hope everyone is doing well.
Cheers!
