Good day, dear friends. I am already on my second cup of java. There is plenty more. Step up.

Good evening, Larry! It's late here so I'll skip the coffee and have a lemon and ginger tea.

We're having quite a warm couple of days here. Summer at last! Briefly, anyway. I actually sat outside with a book for half an hour without getting blown away or rained on!

Hope everyone had a good Sunday.
Hi peeps
A late drop in here . Today got away from me .
Yesterday was so busy that today is just a lazy laid-back kind of day

I have fresh sugar cookies today . They are shaped like monkeys, elephants lions, books, paw prints and butterflies
*moving the cookies from the cookie jars to the emergency cookie tins behind the counter and filling the cookie jars to the tippy top with fresh cookies *
*giving the adorable mascots fresh water and treats *
Hope everyone is staying safe and sound!

Bring it in beautiful folks
Morning, Sara, thanks for the fresh batch of cookies! Morning, E, how nice to start off the week with positive thoughts.

It should be a warmish day here in sunny (well, overcast but not raining) Ireland, which is a pleasant change. I'll grab a cup of coffee and one of those cute cookies.

Hope everyone is having a good start to the week.
Good day, Ladies. Hello, Cynthia and E. I've got a fresh pot of coffee brewing. The tea kettle is still on.

There was a slight chill in the air during my walk with Victor. But it feels like it will be quite warm later in the day.

Since we just closed a contest it is tradition now to start wondering when will the judging be completed. I'm doing that.

Well, Molly's sig says September 16 (Wednesday) and who am I to question an admin's sig? Of course, there's always the question of which side of the International Date Line that refers to. In any case, I am looking forward to the big announcement.

For now, though, I shall distract myself with some tea and cookies.

Sonja did not have a cat. So why was this one making itself at home in her house?

Hope your keys turn up, Sara and thanks for the cookies! Glad your landlord had a spare set.

I'll grab a coffee before I organise myself to get out for an outdoor socially distanced line dancing class! It should be fun. smile
Good morning, Cynthia. Dancing does sound fun. I haven't done that in so long.

I got up and around a little late this morning. So fresh coffee is just now perking and the tea kettle is on.

Morning, y'all. Curvy, best of luck with your dancing but be sure to warm-up your used less than usual muscles.

Larry, thanks for the coffee. It's gonna go so well with Sara's cookies. So how's by your 'better half'? Keep us posted. and we'll keep our fingers crossed. Later.

Well, my power just went out, so I can't work! They stopped by yesterday and said this would happen, for about an hour. Rhank God my phone has a mobile hotspot.

Not much else gojng on here. I may write. I may kick back and read and drink coffee.

I've been going for a 6,000-10,000 step walk every day for about a month now. It's really improved my life. I look forward to it. And as I get to think about what I plan to write while I walk, it helps my writing too.

Hope everyone is doing well.

I think the mobile hotspot has got to be one of the best features to hit smartphones since mail synchronization. Incredibly useful in a number of situations.

Maybe it stole your key?

COVID is back up here in Ontario. My area has had an outbreak on the local university campus. Fortunately, my wife, a prof at said university, is almost retired and not teaching this semester. OTOH, my son lives in the city that has been the second or third worst in Ontario for the past week or so. He has a little bubble going with his roommate, girlfriend, and biking buddy and doesn't socialize much outside that group so should be okay but you never know.

Chilly here, so need something hot. Kettle is on. Anyone else for tea, cocoa, or other non-coffee hot drinks?

Hello, all. The coffee is ready and the tea kettle is on.

Nothing to do today. Just sit back and relax I suppose.

I finally had my checkup and cleaning at the dentist. Got delayed from, I think, June or so. The Ontario college has really gone hard on COVID-prevention so it took him a while to get his office up to par, delaying all his appointments from the spring. Not to mention the front steps seemingly collapsed, forcing him to use his side door as the entrance (he converted an old bungalow into a dental office).

Now I am working in my office. Trying a mix of in office and remote for the next few weeks.

Congratulations to all the winners, the top ten, and everyone who entered the contest. It was a lot of fun to read all the stories and see the different takes on the theme.

The weather has finally turned fall-like and I am loving it. It helps with my mood which has not been cooperating with my many efforts to change it.

Trying to manage and juggle care for family members by phone is challenging. Some days I feel completely incompetent. Sigh...

I hope everyone is having a good week.

Cheers!
I picked up a cake to celebrate the comp announcement. Enjoy!!

And I imagine that Sara will be along soon to put out some cookies, too.

Kettle and coffee maker are both on.

What a great contest that was! I hope there will be another one soon! Congrats to all who entered. Looking forward to your next Scamp story, Sara!

We *might* get some sunshine today - which would be nice! I'll grab a coffee and some of Sara's delicious cookies to get moving here.
Coffee and cookies make for a perfect breakfast, imo.

A special 'atta boy' to the inspiring founder of Inspirations for finishing in the money. Sic 'em, Scott.

For everyone, including those of us who didn't enter or finish among the top-drawer' entries, there still was a serious bonus. Just about everyone who commented on the winners also mentioned how much they enjoyed the contest. That goodwill could benefit the future of Stories Space. Molly and company are deserving of both praise and thanks -- and that's not just imo, it's a fact Jack. ;)

Later.

Good morning to the early risers on Stories Space. I'll just make sure there is still fresh coffee. The hot water is as fresh as we can get it as well.

That was a great contest. Here's to looking forward to many more in the future.

Time to rise and shine and get the world running once more. So I have the coffee brewing and the tea kettle is on.

The weather is turning cooler. The furnace is now trying to get some warmth back into the house. Aw, it just turned off so it must be a comfortable temperature in here now.

Haven't turned our furnace on yet but it is getting tempting. Definitely a bit chilly when I got up this morning and only 8C outside when I left for work about 8:15am.

Working on my Halloween horror story now. Last year was a ghost story. This year, I'm going for cosmic horror, I think, though trying to keep it very focussed and personal. Also have another story I am toying with but not for here.

Making a pot of Scottish Breakfast tea for anyone in need of a non-coffee caffeine fix.

Happy TGIF to all and any sundry hiding in the broom closet.

Out here in the desert, the predicted high is 104f. Odds are it'll be some time before folks start switching the thermostats from 'cool' to 'heat'. ;)

Many thanks for the coffee, Larry. It's downright drinkable. Sarah's cookies are, of course, outstanding. Y'all do the best you know how the rest of the day -- tonight, you're on your own.

Scott, I love a good ghost story. I look forward to reading it when you are done.

The air has turned decidedly cooler this afternoon. I am loving the cooldown. It's breezy and it smells like fall. Doesn't' look much like it yet. It has been such a hot and rainy summer that everything looks like a jungle. Usually, by August everything is burnt and dead from the heat.

I love sleeping with the windows wide open snuggling up under blankets.

Looking forward to my middle son coming for the weekend. He''s mostly coming so he can work on his motorcycle. Can't do that in the parking lot at his condo building. I'll bug him while he's working and make his favorite foods.

My youngest was thrilled to finally make it to Germany to see his German girlfriend. The EU started allowing couples to visit each other if they have been in a relationship for over a year, have visited the country before, have a COVID test when they land, and quarantine until they have the results. He can quarantine with her. Their future plans were put on hold by all this mess. I'm happy for them.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Cheers!
