Nice day at work. I have new staff starting so I am in the office for a few days. However, she is working with another team member so I am just in my office doing stuff and sipping green tea.

The 17th has come and gone so I imagine we are getting close to the big day for the comps. Don't envy the judges at all. There's a lot to read and a lot of it is good.

hi everyone
A rough start to the day.. Woke up feeling yucky but feeling human now this wacky weather has my sinuses in a uproar.
A large iced coffee sounds yummy in the tummy
I have fresh cookies today :
*moving the old cookies to the emergency cookie tins behind the counter and filling the cookie jars to the tippy top with fresh cookies *
In Big Bird we have carrot cake cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, butterscotch sugar cookies and maple walnut cookies
In Cookie Monster we have butterscotch sugar cookies, cinnamon stars, molasses crackles and peanut butter and banana cookies
*giving the adorable mascots fresh water and treats *

Good evening, my friends. The short holiday was a success since the weather was so nice. But I did find out how much I am unable to do anymore. I simply don't have the strength that I used to have in the old days. Short little day trips will be my limit from now on, I fear.

I have ordered a new sideboard that will arrive soon for use as a low dresser for clothing in my sitting room. It is made in Vietnam from acacia and metal and has slats on the front. I'll just post a pic here.



As we get rid of some of our old furniture I discover the need for some new pieces. That will be fun

A friend of ours has a nice day bed she wants to get rid of and has given it to us. It will look good in the sitting room along with my settee. Victor is looking forward to breaking it in for his napping spot in the future.

Looking forward to seeing the results of the three contests.

I hope everyone is doing well. I've been absent for a while. I spent time in the hospital and have been recovering at home for a few weeks. I had an asthma attack and tested positive for Covid. It went downhill from there.

My recovery has been a very slow process but I am grateful for the care I got and am getting. Other family members had only mild symptoms thankfully. Getting out of bed and showering without help had been my biggest accomplishment so far, but today I changed the sheets. Progress.

Stay healthy everyone and be very careful.

Sorry to hear, Gil, but glad you are on the mend. COVID is not something to be trifled with, in spite of what some folks seem to think. While he was never as bad as you, my brother got knocked down for a week or two when he had it. So, take care and get yourself well.

Kettle is on. I am making a cup of Duke (Duke of Earl, a favorite Earl Grey variant). Coffee is perking, too, for those who may prefer than option.

This recovery buddy is just the medicine, for sure. It was kind of you to not let us know what was going on. We would have been worrying all of this time. As it is you went through the battle and are coming back better than ever, I'm sure. What a wonderful thing to hear, Gill. So happy you are alright. *HUGS*

I have the coffee ready for any who care for that. And I know that Scott has the water ready for tea. Sara always leaves plenty of cookies stashed away for all of us to enjoy.

Found a new friend at the bookshop this morning. A little green frog had slipped in between the cracks. Needless to say, I helped him find his way back to the marshes.

Cool. My brother occasionally gets snakes in the office. Releases them in the field next door which is likely where they come from. My office, on the other hand, just gets the odd mouse.

EDIT: I wasn't complaining that she won't be wearing as much black. More like it's been a few days full of thoughts like "how is she so beautiful?"

So pleased that you are healing, Gillian, albeit slowly. I think that cats are a great comfort in such times of stress. Our families cannot give us 100% of their time but our felines are always there for us.

It's a good news/bad news kind of day.

Good: I found an an online shop that sells just about everything you could ever want with somebody's picture on it (ie: pillows, clothes, coffee mugs, etc). And one of the people you can choose from is Jane. I...

Bad: We just finished a WL hiatus and now we're headed for another one after a few more weeks of episodes. And this time it's going to last for a month. And I...I really, really don't want to be away from Jane for that long.

I remember having a bad thing for Brooke Shields back in her heyday as a teen star. We're supposedly the same age, though some sources have her a year younger, and our birthdays are even quite close together. Back in high school, I fantasized an entire story involving her and me, including fantasizing her taking the lead in the movie version. Oh, I intend to, believe me. Funny thing is that a lot of Jane's sarcastic comments (on WL or otherwise) are similar to things I might say to somebody.

*giggles *speaking of crushes I'm crushing pretty hard on Lucas Black in was in 42 the Jackie Robinson story and played special agent Christopher LaSalle on NCIS NEW ORLEANS for 5 and half seasons... Geez his Southern accent....

Very busy today putting together the futon that a friend gave to us yesterday. Very complicated.

It is now dinner time. I reheated a rotisserie chicken that I had frozen two weeks ago.
