What 2 words would you say to your teenage self?

Since you were a teenager, we have learned more of lifes lessons, well I hope we have... what two words would you say to your teenage self? If 2 words isn't enough please feel free to make a list lol.



Mine would be...Microsoft shares.

But seriously, two words would so not suffice retrospecively from me to my teen-age self.

I agree with you. Very difficult to definitively decide. I think the two words, I'd choose would be "leave school." I left school far too late, and it's had a terrible impact on my life, so maybe I'd parrot your words "smarten up", even though, knowing me, I'd just ignore them. Hell, I might even say something so banal as "sort nosebleeds". Or maybe that isn't banal when you consider that I'm nearly 30 and still suffer from them, granted, not on such a scale or on as regular a basis, but still... I do. The one thing I'd definitely say is "write more." I never wrote much then, and I think it might have helped me. The trouble is, if I'd taken all that advice back then, would I really be here, typing this? Probably not. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I really don't know.

I was beginning to wonder if anyone else was going to post here. I agree with you gypsy. Two words aren't enough a list is fine though. Loved your "dump him, forget him, eat broccoli and grilled cheese".

Andrew I have NEVEr heard anyone say they stayed at school too long. Always the opposite. Why do you say that?

Because I missed a lot of opportunities. I could have gone to college and found my niche, but instead, I just sat in school getting stoned and wasting everyone's time. If I'd left school at 17, rather than 18, that year less would have made a huge difference, I think. I might have actually listened to advice because I would have felt that, if I was in college, it was my choice, so I'd have been more likely to listen to peers and tutors. In high school, I felt as if everyone was against me, and I know that everyone does, but put it this way, I wasn't even allowed to do work experience. Maybe if I'd left school, I'd have been given more opportunities. Can't really dwell on the maybes, though. Here's another two words I'd say to myself, though I really wouldn't understand them: "Get out."
