And eleven is in the queue. 😊 (and maybe more, I can only speak to one)

Sonja did not have a cat. So why was this one making itself at home in her house?

I know of 3 others who said they’d enter. Hope so…

Remember, Mendalla. Molly told us the story doesn' t have to lead to romance. Your entry is very good!

Oh, that's not Calico Cupid I am talking about there. That story got dropped from being my comp entry fairly quickly. Besides the lack of any real connection with the theme, it probably needs a couple thousand words to be done right. It will go up after the comp and after the other story I decided not to enter, so maybe later in August. 😊

More more more!!!! We wants more!!!!

Yeah, I've read all the entries now. Who else is joining in the fun. It's a good slate. I don't envy the judges having to pick three of them, even if I have thoughts on possible podium entries.

I've submitted one. Fingers crossed it gets approved. Trying out a bitty narrative style, so who knows if it'll work.

Okay, it's in. I've no.idea if it works or not, as it's a rather dense barrage of words and may have missed the humanity along the way. But one has to experiment, right? Hopefully it's a fun read if nothing else.

Screw Romance

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 You win funniest title for a Summer Love competition! 😳🤣🤣🤣🤣

Screw Romance

Summer love? Sure, I have one of those stories. Hasn't everyone? Except mine’s a bit different...

Couldn't resist a play on the words of Tarantino/Scott. 😀

I think 2 more are coming. Woohoo! worship :worship:

I love the comps here! Such creative writers and a fun vibe.

Finally got a couple of days where I could sit down and write. Didn't think I'd be ready until after the weekend, but it sort of came together (I think / hope...) so I submitted this morning - and bingo! It's up 😊. I hope people like it - now I've got some reading to do...

Guardian Angel

Guardian Angel

How old is old enough to feel your first love? Or to experience the unbearable pain of loss? When can you possibly be old enough to understand these feelings?

Realistic Fiction

Príšera Vnútri - 2nd place in the 'Myths & Monsters' competition

Torn - 2nd place in the 'Beyond the Veil' competition

Alone - 2nd place in the 'Sound of Silence' competition

Hand In My Pocket - 3rd place in the 'A Survivor's Story' competition

I have still heard 2 more are possibly coming. I hope so.

This is a comp where I have no clue who will podium. All entries are fabulous and very different from one another. smile

LOL. You mentioned that before so I assumed TheShyThespian was one of those. So still could be two more coming. This comp is doing well, for an SS comp. Like it. I still haven't caught up with the ones that came in after mine so this weekend I have some reading material.

He was, but AnnaBanana’s wanting to get an entry in now too. The other is Ping. I poked him early on and he said he was looking at it. Roland mentioned it, too, so possibly 3 more.

Question - is there a time window to accept the prize money if you win? Like if it goes unclaimed after x amount of time it will be given to someone else?

Interesting question. Has anyone ever not accepted the prize money? Molly messages you before posting the results and I tend to reply fairly quickly to thank her and tell her how to send the award (PayPal in my case). But since one option is SS Coins, I would think that if someone didn't respond, they would default to adding it to their account in coins (which, of course, has only been an option for the past couple years). Watching for Molly's response.

I was asking because circumstances like having spotty wifi, or having wifi cut off, because of not being able to pay a bill may prevent one from answering quickly and I wonder if circumstances like that are taken into consideration at all. Like some people may not have any income at all, and the hope/possibility of winning these contests is all the money they may ever see for a long while. and if circumstances of not having access to wifi prevent them from accepting prize money, it ... is just something that popped up in my head and wanted to ask about is all.

I imagine Molly would leave it out there and just go ahead with the announcement but I'm not sure. I suspect she would give it some time in hopes they were just away and would eventually respond. Hopefully she sees this and chimes (once again, we need tagging).

It's likely they would eventually get connected somehow. Libraries and similar institutions often have free wi-fi and encourage people in those situations to avail themselves of it (at least around here). Even the malls around here have it.

True but transportation to get to the library also costs money. And financial sites can be restricted because of library networks being public to reduce any risk of identity theft etc. It is a good thing to know either way if there is a time window to accept the prize money because people can also get sick and not be able to log on because they are in the emergency room, or other such possibilities.

My photo for my entry to the competition has disappeared from the story. Anyone know why?

I still see it. Or did it get fixed overnight?
