Managed to get my poem "Political Banter" in the first issue of eHumor - the Mayan Apocalypse Edition...

eHumor is sort of a branch off of eFiction Magazine...and I know they pay something for submissions, because I got a note from editor Holt Hunziker mentioning something about payment being delayed until they start getting revenue...I'm not really sure how much they pay at the moment, but I'm pretty sure it's not a whole lot...

Anyway...the first issue is free, so check it out my friends...

Great Lisa...I posted about it in various Facebook groups, and I sent C Hope Clark a note to see if she puts it in her newsletter...we shall see...
The Dancing With Bear Book is now out of print...it was a one year contract, and a number of authors, myself included, chose not to renew...

Just in case anyone is curious how much I got in royalties over the one year period, I just got paid...retirement party to follow soon...

From PayPal...

Why? Does it hate me, or is it just evil?

Love Daisy.

I think it hates you...did you try bribing it with cookies?

In my experience, you can only center a poem for so many lines, and then it sort of defaults to left justify...there are a number of poems on the site here that are like that, they start out centered, and then jump to the left...

Its been an issue for as long as I've been working here, and don't expect it to change anytime soon...

You might want to try the cookies again, just for the heck of it...maybe send cookies to the mods...don't guarantee it would work, but you could try it...just sayin'

As this year is so close to finishing, I wondered how the year in writing new work has been for the authors here.

You started this thread just to embarrass me...didn't you? My actual output of new work did not meet my expectations at the beginning of the year, the total amount being a grand total of six poems for the year...though half of those will be considered legitimately "published" by P&W by the end of the year...

As far as other writing related stuff goes, and you mentioned something about editing and the like...I recently got my first editing credit for a book...

Admittedly, it was more proofreading than editing, but something different for me...and Bill sent me a nice signed copy of the book recently btw...

I was kept pretty busy most of this year with not only writing related stuff, but deaths, hurricanes, some health issues, and other real life stuff...

I can't really complain as a writer though...my own book coming out this year was something I hadn't anticipated at the beginning of the year...and btw, I Often Wonder, a collection of poetry and prose by Alan W. Jankowski would make a great holiday gift for anyone you know who reads...(insert shameless promo here)...oh wait, I just did...
I've been unable to finish a book because I was someplace and it was borrowed, or some reason like that...

But, when I start reading something, I sort of have to finish it if possible...maybe I should put that in the OCD thread...

True that...at least I haven't got to the 'crack avoiding on sidewalks/pavements' stage. I love this thread.

I have to admit, I still do the crack avoiding thing once in a while...and I'm not so sure I love this thread...

Oh my ....

1. I always have a pair of scissors under my pillow just in case a burglar tries to come in.

I just noticed this...not sure if that would work...the burglar might be carrying a rock...and we all know, rock beats scissors...just sayin'

And no Louise...you're not all crazy...

oooh I have a weird shopping one...I have to group wet items together and dry items together on the conveyer belt so I can pack them together.

That makes sense actually...I pack all the perishable items together, so I can just carry those bags over to the refrigerator when I get home...the other stuff gets put by the shelves...makes perfect sense to me...

Speaking of laundry stuff...I used to go out with a girl who would fold her clothes before putting them in the dryer...she insisted they came out less wrinkled later...I just don't know...

Gav has checked this out and it appears to have only been a problem with links that included storiesspace in them. He's fixed this now so it should all be working okay.

Lol...yeah, got to block Stories Space...don't want anyone to go there...

Why aren't there more poems about the death of the Twinkie being written? Just my thought for today...
A big to all the November Newbies here at Stories Space...

Have fun, and remember...no running with scissors in the forum...

Cheers,
Alan.
