Give me a reason

What did you do with your life

Life is meaningless. There is no reason.

No reason to be here.

You told your first grade teacher you loved her.

You made someone smile every time you appeared.

You touched the head of a child weeping for her lost dolly.

You adopted a pet from the animal shelter.

You hugged your friend when she came out as gay.

You rubbed the feet of your passing mother.

Now, as you look back, you remember once upon a time when you really loved yourself.

You recall the laughs, the caresses, the dreams.

You're the one who gave your life its reason.
