Sometimes a story is just a story
Sometimes a fool is a fool or just dumb
Sometimes a man can be simple and numb
Erring as he basks in faded glory.
Thinking you know what you just cannot know
Thinking you need to intrude in this way
Thinking you should even have any say
Makes one believe that you still need to grow.
Knowing when you should mind your own business
Knowing when all that you think is quite wrong
Knowing when it's just time you moved along
Is hard but you could do it nonetheless.
Doubting that your nose will ever retract
Doubting that it will make a difference
Doubting that you will get some common sense
Even so one hopes you will change your act.
Judging is unattractive at its best
Judging is not needed from one like you
Judging is the last thing that you should do
If it is possible give it a rest.
Again a story is just a story
Again a writer may just want to write
Again a work may contain a true bite
Some folks need no help from one so hoary.
