All Hallows Eve

Remembering the fun on Halloween night.

In the dark a black cat silhouetted by the moon
Fright night and gathering treats is coming soon

Sparking memories in my mind of days past
Smiling to myself man that used to be a blast

Dressing up in costume going door to door
Collecting goodies in a sack never a chore

Waiting for dark to arrive always took so long
Us kids running to each house ringing the gong

Door would open as we shouted trick or treat
Holding our sacks out in front so excited sweet

Groups of friends scouring the neighbourhood
Knowing the best places we could make good

Candied apples and popcorn balls so yummy
Warlocks Witches Princesses or a Mummy

Halloween as a kid was always such fun
In my mind now good memories are spun
