Bitter Twists and fallen lovers

I never do a preface to my work but I wrote this a long time ago. I was extremely angry, heartbroken and betrayed by a lover. Looking back I don't feel the same toxicity but it is still a poem that reflects that turbulant part of my life.

Dear (Insert your name here)

Your subversive cowardice astounds me
Daring accusations from you paint me as settling
When you settle, your life littered with empty conquests
You’re as transparent as freshly washed windows
‘So tormented’ you sigh
Like a sucker I fell for that pseudo -vulnerability
More like so stupid (both of us)
Me - for thinking you had the courage to change
You - for believing your own bullshit
‘I don’t lie’ you say
You lie to yourself
‘I want to be a better person’ you whine
Well be one, then
You once said I was your moral compass
You obviously need one
You walk all over women
Trampling their hearts and pride into the dust
Causing devastation and discord wherever you roam
Your potential to be great is there
But fear has crippled it
Your selfishness compounds it
So long sucker
I’ve wasted enough of my time on you
