I'm in charge, but I don't always do the right thing.

Everyone has a gift to give,
we need to accept that,
sometimes it's wrapped in shitty paper,
but a gift just the same.

If we peel the outer layer away,
beneath the stained cover you often find,
the true beauty
and the real gift.

Gifts wrapped in used toilet paper,
are not all that appealing to the eye,
but are there to teach us something,
not sure what but...

Maybe we just need to close our eyes,
plug our noses,
put on rubber gloves
and start unwrapping.

Flush it down,
watch it swirl away,
pull our pants up
and get on with it.

Not throw the gift of living away,
before learning,
or seeing,
what hides within.

After all,
life is for living,
love is for giving,
we all have gifts to give.

Life is much the same,
shitty things do happen,
if we can get past the crap,
living it is the true gift.
