Goodbye Dad

Tags: dad, missed

This is for my Dad... I hope he likes it...

It's been about eight years,
Since you passed away,
Although we never knew each other,
I think about you every day,
I remember the first time I got locked up,
You said "boy that ain't the way",
I'm sorry I'm not the son,
You wanted me to be,
Although you never said it,
I know your disappointed in me,
I wish we had more time together,
But mom kept us apart,
She made me believe some awful things,
She lied right from the start,
Since you died I learned the truth,
I'm so sorry I believed that bitch's lies,
I knew you were a decent man,
I could see it in your eyes,
I'm not gonna lie, it was really hard,
Growing up without you Dad,
But the few short weeks before you died,
Were the greatest days I've had.
I love and miss you so very much,
I will see you on the other side,
I promise to be a better man,
And carry our name with pride..
