Hints And Flashes

Time moves and unfolds behind your eyes,
I see myself when those fragile colored orbs
begin to blossom and constrict
before you pull away from me.

If I am to be nothing more than
a bright flash across your sky,
hold on to that split second
where I am pure energy.

Where I make the above an intricate patchwork
of electric veins singeing the oxygen,
strobing across the land and lighting
up all the cold and dark rooms
you thoughtyou left your heart within.

Even if you cannot tell me about those places
and I only know the barest hints and flashes,
the torched trust I've sifted through,
I have wanted nothing more than to mend
the lonely universes spiraling together
but never touching in your eyes

Where time moves and unfolds
from the shapes pain carved beneath,
I see myself there when your
fragile quivering heart begins
to blossom and constrict
right before you pull away from me.

If I am to be nothing more than
a breeze within your storm,
hold on to that split second
where I am all the air you know.

Covering the intricate design
of your entire body,
dancing along lonely pores and lifting
the plumes of dust and smoke you thought
you left the rest of your heart within.

Even if you cannot let me inside
and I only sense in hints and flashes
what you truly long for,
I have wanted nothing more than to find
every clue spiraling together but never meeting
in the universe that your eyes contain.

Where time unfolds and turns us away,
begins to blossom and constrict to
pull us back together with inescapable velocity,
knowing I can still be an element within you
is enough to make me never pull away.
