A mind in constant panic..

A frantic mind can hurt the calmest heart.
Rancid thoughts will tear you apart.

True or not, nothing is what it seems.
Nothing makes sense in your insane dreams.

Guilt and doubt fill every cranny and nook.
A missed call, a forgotten text is all it took.

What was love a few hours ago,
Now causes you to question all that you know.

Your wandering mind has you replaced by others.
Another, than another, until you feel smothered.

How could this happen to a love so strong?
Were you being played by her all along?

Panic at the thought of her with another lover
Leaves you in a place from which you may never recover.

It’s true what they say about distance and time.
Stuck at the bottom of an uphill climb.

Suddenly on the phone comes her voice so clear.
“Where have you been?” “Shhhh... baby I’m right here.”

She laughs as she listens to your quivering voice.
“Baby I love you... you are my only choice.”

Such a fool I can be with my heart so insecure.
She deserves far better than me, of that I’m sure.

A dead battery, a longer meeting, so many other things.
None of what I thought only made my suspicions sting.

Loving her may be the easiest hard thing I do.
Loving me back is even harder, but then she knew.

Bonded by a destiny we really can’t explain.
But then, she truly does enjoy driving me insane.
