Life's Eternal Parade

Tags: poetry

I am old, but not as old as some
I am here, when some have passed beyond
I am free, and won't look to the past
I am glad, with things still yet to do.

I can act
I can sing
I can dance
And care not a whit who may see it.

This is my time
This is your time
This is our time
So don't forget to smile
So don't forget to laugh
So don't forget to love.

Do not forget
The joys to come
Do not regret
Just gather some.

Fill both hands
As you
Fill your heart
With passion and zeal
For all that is yet to be
And all those yet to love.

Who has not loved
Who has not lost
Who has not tried to win it all again.

Praise your luck
That you are living now
Praise your loves
That will accept you now
Praise your life
That still fulfills your dream
Praise your hope
That tells you it will last.

Join the eternal parade
Wave to the cheering crowds
This is your time to shine
This is your time...and mine.
