Missing You

Tags: loss, regret, love

I will never see you again...

I will never forget the message that plays over inside my mind

The one asking me to call you

To help you with something that night

I was selfish and I pushed it aside thinking I had some more time

I learned the next day that time can be ripped away

When I learned that you were gone

Not just from my heart, or from my soul

But from life in every way

I shut down when I heard

And I moved like a zombie as people tried to comfort me

I held back my sobs and all of my emotions

Keeping the memory of you safe inside as others tried to rip it away

I loved you as my sister

As my best friend

As the only one that seemed to be there for me at a turbulent part of my life

I miss you to this day, so many years later

I still feel the tears in my eyes

I talk to your headstone about everything in my life

Wishing that you could see it all

What good has come after your tragic loss and how far that we all have gone

I blow you a kiss and walk away

Ready to come see you another day

I miss you

I love you

I will never forget you

I smile your way as I drive way

Going back to my life

Without you
