Never Forget, Never Regret

Tags: love poem

One heart gave to another
all that it had to give.

One heart took from the other
then it faded away.

Too long waiting and doubting
can be a common affair.

Too long yearning and mourning
wastes a singular life.

Was it all that you dreamt of,
did a nightmare occur.

Was your trust rudely shattered
by their faithless display.

Did you give simply, purely,
from the depths of your soul.

Did they take what was offered
giving you naught in return.

Will there be no redemption
for the love that you gave.

Will you find sweet exemption
from the tears that could fall.

Must it always be this way
when one trusts in the good.

Must this ever be your way
losing out in the end.

It does not need to be thus
if you take what I give.

It could be all that you need,
all your love I'd return.

Never forget my offer,
reach out, I'm always here.

Never regret what was lost,
my love will fill your dreams.
