HomePoetry StoriesShe came from a broken home

She came from a broken home

She came from a broken home

But no one saw that

But the four walls that kept it all in

For so many years she made it

Somehow

No one found out until that night

They had been fighting

The mom and the dad

She was so scared she locked her door

Then she heard the sound

The sound that saved her

She walked into their room to find her

Laying on the floor

With him beside her

The help arrived five minutes later

Glass was everywhere downstairs

Pictures showed a lie

They weren’t ever a happy family

Now they were nothing

The door to their bedroom was broken down

A smashed lamp was on the bed

She had nowhere else to go

She walked out with arms wrapped around her

Five years later?

She still had nowhere to go

Until he saw her
