My tears were all dry,
gone, with yesterday’s pain
Like morning dew
They were lost in the rain
Perhaps I was free
Or rather suppressed
Memories of her
And my love gone to rest.
But come from the dark
In unwelcome pain
Loneliness and sorrow
To rest in my brain.
And again, I’m reminded
Of the joy that was lost
And the bleak shadows
Of her tomorrows loss.
So, to amber protection
And alcohol’s bliss
I drink to her
And pour her the rest
