Tea Time With Gran

How I recall tea with Gran.

The bubbling pot

The silver ball

Full of fragrant leaves

Steeping… steeping…

Pretty saucers

Matching cups

Linen napkins

Finger cakes

Silver service

Fancy tray

Table cloth gleaming white

Time to serve

Sugar cubes

Honey drizzle

A splash of milk perhaps

Just black

Tentative sips

Gently clinks

Of stirring spoons

And passed plates of treats

Tea is tradition

So tasty and fun

I always looked forward

To tea time at Gran’s
