Tears From Within

What ever happened to happily ever after?

Tears From Within

From the first moment

Winning my heart with your flattering comment

The warmth inside of you radiating

Oh! How I loved your spontaneity

Tender smile so captivating

Nothing showed of your notoriety

You talked the talk

Even walked the walk

At least down the aisle

You promised for life, every last mile

So I’m not the vixen I used to be

Is that enough to change your attitude towards me

I’m thick now around the middle

Is that why your ease of flow is now a riddle

All the extra hours you put in at work

Sounds to me like a way not to get stuck

With me, spending time alone

It seems that pretty bird, our love has flown

Far away over the distant horizon

Our home is no longer the comfort zone

Our eyes seldom meet nowadays

Cause you lie to me in so many ways

You know I’d see it in your eyes

The deceit, the treachery, the lies

I’m tired of fighting, and cursing

Over the fictitious female cousins

The boys late night out, while I wait turning and tossing

The wrong number girl-calls by the dozens

Heart broken as I be

It’s time I did a favour for me

Stop the deceit and let our parting be

Go your way; let me lick the wound of me

And hope these, my tears from deep within

Cleanse the venom from my broken heart

So I can again begin
