The Heart of Righteousness

Is this her heart
Misplaced and hurt
Gentle softness
Her slight shoulders
Those of the
Unknown trooper
Who bears the load
While the brutes
Rip her apart
In the quest
To own the right.

Twinkling in the light
Is bleeding
To be seen
Down her spine
It colors the
Loss she feels
From the bitter
Biting hatred
Spent upon her
To make her bend.

And she won't
She never will
Because it is not
Part of her soul
Part of her spirit
Part of her life
She does not give
She is a fighter
For what is right
As we all know
Who know her.

And love her
And her noble
Heart and soul
Growing stronger
In the battle
Marching onward
Until the end
Never stooping
To the levels
Of the depths
To which they descend.

This is the end.

A sparkling, shining newness begins.
