The Trolls Came Out To Play

The trolls came out to play that night
Expecting everyone to flee,
But nothing they could do caused fright.
Their ugliness was met with glee.

We knew they lived amongst us now
And how to keep away from them.
We blocked them out, we knew just how,
And kept our home a perfect gem.

The past foretold that they would come
As ever foulness will appear.
Already we knew we had some
That softly whispered in our ear.

They wished that we would waste our time
On useless battles fought in vain,
To cover up our souls in grime,
And send deep doubts into each brain.

As always they desired gelt,
Or any valued thing we had
Whose loss would never go unfelt,
And surely drive all losers mad.

They planned to conquer and divide,
To make us hate and feel unsure,
But peace was all they found inside
Because our thoughts were clean and pure.

This tale is told to be of use
To those who fear the darkness now.
Have faith you'll overcome abuse
And show the trolls you will not cow.
