The Weary Paladin

The crossroads on the journey toward his goal
Allows a moment's pause to judge the quest.
Though all the wounds and burdens took a toll,
His heart and body still should pass the test.

Emotions held in check, complete the work.
Accepting duty, never looking back.
Behind are those who know he will not shirk,
Abiding 'til he takes the homeward track.

So many evil fortunes have been met,
And been suppressed and left to waste away.
His knightly courage never bested yet.
Perhaps 'tis time to call this trial a day.

His passion knows his honor is fulfilled,
True honor will be met 'til life is stilled.
