Thus Do the Faithful Abide

In the garden, by the french doors, watching the path,
Waiting for the one and only one who won't come.
Life is a long, unending glimpse of the future
Without her, with no exemption or resumption
Of the love we shared, we lost, she took it away.

Wasted time, wasted life, it may seem so to you
And I have felt the same myself, but nevermore.
I have seen, down the lane, a shadow as my soul
Wends down the grassy lane, my dear returns to me
With eyes that fill with tears of joy, she glows anew.

This is the thought, the wish, that wanders through my mind.
Lost in a maze of Truth and Beauty, Faith returns
To spread its devotional beckoning to me.
Today, and tomorrow, a week in the future.
I have sat, I have watched, I have always been here.

Summer shone, autumn passed, and winter now has come.
Seasons come, seasons go, but I am still at peace.
Soon the Jasmine will bloom, wafting out its scent,
The Bougainvillea will lay across the arbor.
Without thinking, without wishing, always in hope.

My life is never ending patience, lost in dreams.
Awake, awake, you must make haste to learn the Truth!
The dawn is coming unto you once more, awake!
Look to the sunlit windows glowing in the morn.
Observe the soul mate standing, waiting for your kiss.

Bliss has been within you. Always there abiding.
As you see, there is ever hope and redemption.
Never give up, never lose the expectation.
Always dream and live for the blooming, the springtime
That returns forever, and ever is with you.

In the deepest parts of your ever blesséd soul.
