Voices Inside

The past always returns
A cycle unbroken
And repeating patterns
Leaving behind the burns

Loves, friends and family
People I cannot hate
Decide I'm unworthy
Like some flaw within me

One too many failures
The mistakes piling on
A question that fractures
There are no more answers

The voices speaking inside
That I cannot be loved
Cold and brutal and snide
And there's nowhere to hide

These voices cannot be mine
I do have love to give
But this voice is a sign
While I say, "I'll be fine"
