Wish You Were Here

It's been so many years,
a few joys and more tears
So much I want to say,
if I could find a way

I'm still the boy inside,
giving you that first ride
The one lost in your eyes,
holding you through your cries

You left me so empty,
and nothing can fill me
So long chasing traces,
wish I could trade places

If I would have been more,
I could have helped you soar
But I only failed you,
and pills became your adieu

My body has grown old,
my heart's becoming cold
I've lost the thrill of life,
all I feel is the strife

You're the one that I need,
it's far too late to plead
Though I can feel you near,
I just wish you were here
