I really liked this movie. The soundtrack was amazing. I don't think it did as well as it could have because of bad timing with the Kevin Spacey scandal.

It Chapter 2

I am a huge fan of the book. I have read it probably 20+ times since I was 12yrs old. It's one of my go-to books when I don't have anything else to read.

The movie was great and worth seeing. The actors were a perfect choice and Bill Skarsgard was amazing. My biggest complaint is the use of unnecessary CGI scares that brought nothing to the movie. To me it was more of a distraction. What was in the book could have been done a lot easier and for a lot less money and in my opinion been way more terrifying.

I loved the soundtrack. It's one of my favorites.

I've read It so many times my book fell apart. I need to get another.

American Psycho. I still like the book better.

This year was pretty good for movies.

Uncut Gems is probably my favorite of the year.

I also loved Jojo Rabbit, Queen and Slim, The King, The Nightengale, 1917, Bombshell...

Last night I watched Scary Stories to Tell in The Dark.

Now, I won't say it was a stellar movie, but I liked it. It had a Channel Zero meets Goosebumps vibe.

I just watched Sam Mendes' 1917.
All I can say is... WOW! What a movie with absolutely no Hollywood style effects. It portrays the horrors of trench warfare extremely well.
Certainly not for the faint-hearted.

The last movie I watched was Rob Zombie's 3 From Hell.

I love Rob Zombie and I have enjoyed most of his movies to some degree or another. Not Halloween, that is a rant that I will happily have if anyone ever wants to hear it. Same with the Pyscho remake. Ugh.

This one, I spent most of the movie wondering if he was under contract to make it. The opening was good but by the end, it dissolved into something I was fast-forwarding just to get through.

I watched Maleficent: Mistress of Evil in 3D
Very well made and visually stunning but...
The story line was not good. It didn't have any of the impact that the original had.
I got the impression that they didn't have any inspiration for it so just knocked together any old tale to fit the requirements.
Very disappointed as the first movie was so powerful.

Got Netflix a couple of months ago so I'm playing catch up with movies
I recently watched the Nut Job (such a fun cartoon movie)
I found one that was intriguing on Amazon Prime :.
My Daughter Anne Frank it's in German with English subtitles lucky for me I understand German fairly well.

I watched Eurovision on Netflix last night.

It was funny and dumb at the same time. I mean Will Ferrall...

I have Eurovision on my list. While we were on vacation we watched Knives Out. I enjoyed it. It was entertaining and none of us guessed the outcome correctly.

I get notifications from Netflix about shows they think I might like. It suggested something called Warrior Nun (After waking up in a morgue, an orphaned teen discovers she now possesses superpowers as the chosen Halo-Bearer for a secret sect of demon-hunting nuns). Sounds like something I'd watch, lol.

I wish I understood more German. I have been trying for a long time on Duolingo but it is just not enough.
However, that said, I do find it easier to understand things when I am in Germany, I just can't converse.

I watched Extraction with Chris Hemsworth. If you like action movies with lots of shooting and things blowing up, this is one for you. I loved the kid in this. He was clumsy and in the way at times, to the point it looked real like he had no idea what he was doing there, but as the movie grew so did he.

I watched Gladiator - even though its gritty - still entertains me.

I watched the Equalizer - I used to love the television series - the movies are more violent - but still got that edge of having someone out there to help you if the odds are against you and you need some help...

Last movie I saw in the theatres was Jojo Rabbit. Really enjoyed that one and anything by Taika Waititi TBH.

Last movie I saw on DVD? Gosh.... I think I rewatched the Avengers last year. It's still in the player LOL

Last movie I streamed? Bumblebee. I've never watched any of Michael Bay's Transformers movies all the way through. I can't believe how much I enjoyed this, though. Lots of heart and I could actually follow the action. And Hailee Steinfeld is an amazing actress.

I think the last movie I watched was Dark Encounter on Amazon.

It was pretty good and then suddenly it took a shift. I was left wondering why they thought that was a good idea.

I watched Doctor Sleep on HBO. The book was very disturbing, more so than some of King's other books.

The movie captured some of that. I can't say I enjoyed it but it kept my attention. It was interesting to get a glimpse of some of the characters from The Shining.

The most recent movie I've seen was actually on Apple TV. It was Greyhound with Tom Hanks. An excellent WWII flick and not excessively long as some war movies tend to be.

The last DVD I watched was National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. I could probably recite every line from that movie having seen it so many times.

The last movie in the theater...I had to think hard about that one. It was either The Invisible Man with Elisabeth Moss or Knives Out with an all-star cast. Both were excellent movies!! I've watched them both on streaming as well.

The last movie I watched was Netflix's The Devil All The Time. It moved a little slow, but that is what made this wonderful. It was a slow and steady burn building up to the fast-moving end.

While browsing on Netflix last night, we stumbled upon a 2016 film called The Take with Idris Elba. It was entertaining, although parts were implausible and sometimes predictable. Still, if you like action flicks, this was a decent film.

I personally enjoyed seeing scenes from Paris and Saint-Denis (where my ancestors are from) and especially liked the scene in the Basilica of Saint-Denis. I was able to visit there in 2009 and it's always fun to see places you've been in a movie.

Wife and I watched a good documentary on the life and work of J. S. Bach hosted by the noted English conductor Sir. John Eliot Gardiner, a noted interpreter of Bach himself. Back - A Passionate Life is the title and it's up on YouTube (possible unofficially but it has been up for a while and not taken down).

The Woman in the Window on Netflix.

I had read the book but thankfully had forgotten the ending. It did not get great reviews but I enjoyed it. I love Amy Adams.

I know! The critics really blasted this, but we enjoyed it a lot! Amy Adams and Juilianne Moore (dreamy sigh) are both really good.

For a good story, google the book sometime. The guy who wrote it is quite a piece of work. He's a Talented Mr. Ripley level liar.
