I know it's different and it will take some time. We have messenger features. If you go to your friends there is a little chat bubble at the top left of their avatar. If you click that it should open up the chat.

Edit to add: I just tried it on my mobile and I see what you mean. I'll say something.

In the great migration, all the images I had as Private are now Public. I can't see any way to batch switch them and that is annoying. 

On my profile page, the member's comments are now clearly addressed to and meant for the late Alan Jankowitz, aka Dirty Martini. Now that is bizarre, to say the least. 

At least one of my stories, The Raft, does not appear in the list of my stories. I can find it by doing a search by name in its category, General, so it's somewhere on site, but not in my list. 

I am liking some of this, but my bitch list is starting to lengthen.

• You cannot upload images from the forum editor. They already have to be uploaded to your profile.
• The bullet list button works in editor but the bullets don't show when you post (e.g. this list should be bulleted).
• Links still have to be manually added. In most forum software I use, you just paste the URL and the link is created automatically.

And I see Sara's problem, too. The icon in Friends opens an IM window to chat so is only available on users who are online. Black box messages could be left even for people who were offline. They could then respond when they came online. Not an issue for me since I don't use them much here, but I can see where it would be for some.

My stories look a bit odd with only a small part of the picture title. All I can see is the middle part of the picture and a couple of letters. The rest has been cropped off. 

We are taking note of all of your concerns and of all of the glitches.

I will say again, this is where your patience is needed, even if it's frustrating.

Looks like replies to comments on existing stories did not come over (just checked my two latest). It is working on new stories. Is this expected?

One more to be looked at: The Remember Me button in Login isn't working. I turn it on every time I log in but if I close Chrome, then reopen and come back to the site, I have to login again. I have my password in a password keeper so not a huge deal, but would still be nice to eventually be able to just come back and already be in from last time.

Yes. I feel like we're still missing some.

Positives:

- Like the new submission window (though I have not submitted anything yet so we'll see)

- The profile management is much more in keeping with modern forum software like the one I use

- Definitely snappy performance wise

- Love the mobile adaptability which was one of the big weaknesses of the old SS for me

- Like the layout of the story listing with Search, Write Your Own Story, and the Genre List across the top. The ways tags are laid out next to the genre is nice, too.

Could use improvement (but not urgent):

- new editor is nice but missing some common options/features like Youtube embedding (how do we embed videos in this one) and font size controls

- more smileys, similar to the old site, would be nice

When you are at the forum list, there is a More to the right of Search. If you click it, it brings up a menu. Choose Forum Settings from that menu and the signature editor is on the window that opens.

Hi, it will take you a little while to find out where everything is, but if we don’t have the features you are looking for we can put them on a wish list and build them, but you will also find a lot of new features when you start looking around. It’s inevitable that there will be a few bugs as it’s been an extremely complicated task to get to this point. Someone technical will pick the comments up on here and reply as soon as practical with an update.

Not keen either. Nothing is so easy to find. Things that were hidden on my profile page are now visible. The forum is no longer straightforward. It is going to take some time to go through things and arrange everything once more.  

What is Messenger? Does that replace the black box? Dear Lord, this is going to take some getting used to.

The messenger is in place of the black boxes. At this moment they are not working on the mobile version or they are working but only when the member is online like it is on the desktop. 

It will take a little bit, but we'll all get there.

Im  about ready to jump ship since it's two different storiesspaces... One desktop version and the mobile version.

So MANY things missing from the mobile profile pages.  . Both versions should be available to all

For instance, elsewhere you mentioned mail folders being gone. That's not a desktop vs. mobile thing, that's a feature that is missing from the new site. It is missing on desktop, too.

There is only one version?. It’s exactly the same site but mobile friendly. 

Another issue noted on mobile:

On my phone, I only see "Stories" in the top left where the logo goes, not StoriesSpace. That needs to be consistent across all interfaces for branding, if nothing else.

Yes it’s a totally new site, it will take some getting used to. Sure we can help on that front.
