Look, I know you are someone else’s Valentine

For the rest of the year, can I imagine you are mine?

We both decided, we will try and fight it

Scared to risk it, but just as scared to miss it

We’ll be pretending we’re fine – hoping we will be in time.

Midnight belongs to us, an ending and beginning all at once

I miss your voice, your imagination

Wishing we had another choice and no limitation.

The change in the seasons makes no change to my reasons

You still have a part, though we are miles and time apart

I have kissed you a thousand times, but never for real

I wish I could have you without having to lie, cheat and steal.

I didn’t want to be that girl – not into a cheap thrill

But you make me feel whole, like a mate to my soul

I don’t know what I am missing, but somehow I do

Life will go on, but I will always want you.

Someday you might come kiss me at my door

Tell me you missed me and must have more – leave our clothes scattered across the floor

A girl can dream, let her imagination play

Send you long distance kisses every rainy day.
