Cancer Be Damned

Cancer touches us all

So many people are touched by this horrible disease. It does not discriminate. It knows no race, age, or sex. It doesn't care what religion you are or where you live. This disease just keeps taking our loved ones away. I wrote this after two beautiful souls lost their battle within a week.

I lost a friend today

She was a shining star

She fought every day

She really came far

She lost her mom today

Who was loving and kind

Her battle lasted years

Now her kids are in a bind

They lost their dad today

He was a really great guy

He thought he had it beat

His kids just sit and cry

They lost their child today

As innocent as can be

She struggled every day

Now she is set free

He lost a cousin today

She was there for all

Her fight was not long

He just got the call

We lost so many people

Life has been rough

Living with cancer

You learn to be tough
