When I return from my work,
Tired and exhausted,
I see her standing, smiling, waiting for no one.
I wave, excited, make familiar gestures,
Oblivious to my gestures, she just stares.
As though challenging me for a game,
With a smile on my face, I partake in,
Challenging her, staring right into her eyes,
Within few seconds, I blink and I lose.
Enlightened, you can’t win over her cuteness.

She never smiles when I look at her,
I know her for a year and half still to her, I am a stranger.

She dares and comes close, still maintaining safe distance from me.
Watches me silently, not changing her gaze,
I say many things, to make her smile,
She silently stands not acknowledging a thing, I said to her.

When I lean forward to hold her hand,
She steps back, never allowing me to touch her.
I stay put not wanting to go further,
After some time her grandfather comes out
She turned to look in his way and runs to him, Dadda! Dadda!
Complaining something which he and I don’t understand,
She meekly smiles at me, as she disappeared before the eyes those stand.
